Distracted (my learning disability)

In my poem “Distracted”, I talk about what its like for me as a dyslexic to read.  I start by giving the read a visual when I say “Looking down at the words, watching them move around the page” I used this to draw the reader in to my dyslexic world that I live it. I believe that letters moving around a page is one of the clearest images a person can use to get another person to understand the viewpoint of a dyslexic. I go into detail on what I go through as I read, for example: being distracted, looking at the clock, forgetting where I was, and starting back over. I try to emphasize that the Dyslexia can’t go away. Its part of my head that just doesn’t work the way a normal person does. My poem does focus on the negatives of dyslexia and I believe many people could say there are some positive sides to it. But in my world its nothing but a down hill condition. In my poem I also talk about how its hard to begin focusing and keep focusing, this is an example of my ADHD kicking in, I don’t state that its ADHD but I think I comes pretty clear when I say “Distracted again” all together I think my poem “Distracted” can really bring any reader, into an LD world emphasizing the struggles of reading and being distracted constantly.
