Black men killed unnecessarily.

I have lost count, O yes I have,
Of black men killed for no just cause.
So black men, be you young or old
You can be killed with lethal force.
You can be selling your CD’s,
Many will think you’re a darling.
But the police can shoot you dead;
This happened to ALTON STERLING.
You can also sell your cigarettes,
And be a good loving father.
But the cops can choke out your life;
As happened to ERIC GARNER.
You can go to get some skittles
And a Snapple one cool evening.
A wanna-be cop can shoot you;
This happened to TRAYVON MARTIN.
You can be coming from a store,
Walking in a street in your town.
A cop stops you, you end up dead,
Like it happened to MICHAEL BROWN.
You can be descending your stairs,
In your public housing unit;
And then be shot by a rookie;
That’s how AKAI GURLEY was hit.
You can be a twelve year old,
Playing around with a toy gun,
And be shot at in three seconds;
So TAMIR RICE’s life was done.
Or you can go shop at WALMART,
Get a BB gun, you are thrilled.
But the police can come and shoot;
And that’s how JOHN CRAWFORD was killed.
Even running from the police
Does not mean you can save your gut.
You can be shot dead from the back,
As a cop did to WALTER SCOTT.
Even being in a cop’s van
Cannot be safe in any way.
You can get injured, die later,
And this happened to FREDDIE GRAY.
I can go on, but I lost count.
It is so sad, I’m mortified. My heart goes out to families
Of all those who unjustly died.
