It's a shame black pride
It’s a shame the shortest month is set aside, for us to celebrate black pride.
We need a library full of books, to give black history a true look.
Think of all the inventors, doctors and engineers.
Who had their ideas stolen thru out the years.
The black soldiers who died for this land.
Even though they were treated less than a man.
All the injustice thru the years, have brought many of us to tears.
But during slavery time we really had no choice.you better not raise your voice.
But thru all the hate segregation and pain, we still made good gains.
And now in the modern day, more credit for what we did is coming our way.
And things do look bright after we helped elect a black president on that november night
Many of us never thought we would live to see.
That event in american history.
