Freshly Squeezed Lemonade My new book of poetry
Wrote a book of poetry called
Freshly Squeezed Lemonade,
It leaves one feeling enthralled
With the taste of something made
Out of the freshest fibers
Experience offers our brain.
There are scorching desires
Jotted all across the page’s terrain,
Longing and sorrow, elation’s
Arrow shot straight through
My recurrent deprivations;
And I write about how I woo
Him in my dreams,
Whereas in reality
I can’t cross the stream
To touch ecstasy.
Any and all interested
In life portrayed on paper
With the pen of a heart invested
In expression’s endeavor
Will find pleasure
In this book.
I hope you send me a letter
With whatever you brook
Within your innermost nook.
This book is a ledger
Of a poet’s outlook
At life’s inner brook.
