The Silence Shall Break
The almost silent Hog is fully silent now,
The last smile has left off
dancing across the great man’s face.
Time as stopped, the clocks
will ring the hour of 1:10 this day
and every day from now until our end.
The world has become absurd
without his presence
and heaven is stony silent
to our pleas for one more day
as the last moment has now passed.
He rests now, having built lives
with words of gold
and actions as monumental as stone.
He is the great white horse who,
having conducted his labours
all his days under the Son
goes now to the rest that only
the Son may give, the reward
only the Son can provide.
Just as he taught us
it will be the Christ who comforts
in these dark and dismal days,
only the Son who will bring light again,
but bring the light he will
the silence shall break.
