Family Drive

We piled into the car like sardines
Believe me it was quite the scene
It was a old rusted out car
Whoever knew it would make it that far
The passenger side had a hole in the floor
You could not open the driver side door

As Dad spit out to the front window into the summer air
Rather or not it will come through the back window was a frightful scare
As we fled the big city and all the lights
for whatever reason it just seemed right

My sisters and I felt unconditionally lived
as we clung to our mother like a glove
even though they have since passed
These are deep rooted memories that will always last.
