The Gallows

The Gallows they welcome any aching neck
Any broken back
Or breaks or cracks

The Gallows they welcome the bleeding, the pleading
And they welcome the ending
Though this is just the beginning.

The Gallows are a place of acceptance,
Because no matter your conveyance
You life you will lose to its weapons.

The Gallows will not let you stand around
In the end you won’t weigh a pound
For its ropes won’t let you hit the ground

Struggle as you may, denying your guilt
Hanging from the noose that you yourself built
Suspense will be building as the floor tilts.

Bring your rope
And bring your hope
In the end it will crush your throat.

The Gallows they welcome the blood on you skin
Happily they will allow you in
You arrive with a frown and you leave with a grin

The Gallows will welcome you
It’s lovely ropes, too
Until it is time to say adieu.

Your song is ending
Your rope is sliding
The Gallows and all those attending

They pray for your end.
Your innocence you defend
As you try to make amends.

The Gallows, they love you.
It’s lovely ropes, too.
But it’s time for you to say adieu.
