Doodle Bear

His name is Doodle
He loves to conoodle
He has many teddy bears
He sucks on their nose when no one stares
Sleeping by my side was his joy
Sleeping at night with his toy
When I sigh
His tale would fly
He has his corks
Like how he snores
He would sit tall
Like he was the best of all
Now my side is cold
Cuz that it had to snow
The deep wounds he had
Made me cry, so sad
I wish I could go back to that night
So he did not have to fight
He is now dead
Never again in my bed
I try not to cry
When I had to say goodbye
Why did he have to die
Is what I cried
Evert December 23rd
We all herd
Around doodles grave
That is where I  stay
Waiting for the day
When he can stay
By my side
Night and day

(2011)

I wrote this ode for my dear dog( pug) named corky (because he had his corks and his tail was curled almost like a cork screw) but we nick named him doodle bear. He was attacked but something (no one knows what except his pug daughter LC) while trying to go to the bathroom on the eve of Christmas eve. He is now buried in my back yard under a small tree.
