with the sweet smell of heather and the Galloway hills
highland i thee roam smell of the corn a cowering wee beasty
o rivers forest hills and plains walk with scanty misty strains
with  a lyrics i write a song for thee the old man  of hoy
look down to the sea eat my piece all gang dry my dear
wild as a boar highland roar sleep by the loch ness shore

as fair upon my true so deep tis my love for you
with thee thy wed on thy finger and marry thee
tis a shining burning light here afore thy sight
for auld acquaintance be forgot for auld Lang syne
bring in the new year Hogmanay dunfries cheer
to the river Clyde Glasgow bites you in the night Italian icecream a delight
poem a sin of rhyme wee whiskey dram for thee
by far be quick to learn and be wise to all know
for the love of my red rose my heavens awaits
for thee lies in my last lair for i sing nae mair
