Secrets of the Wind
Ancient Gods at home in their secret hideaways
lords of the wind and conductor of its fate
all powerful in mind, body, and deeds
creator and designer of the currents
surveyors at work a million and nine miles
‘neath the threshold of heaven
staking out the boundaries that
separate the hot from the cold
with rivers that flow between the elements
keeping the esoteric origin of the winds
a deep secret sealed up in their vaults
keeping out of the view of humanity
to be divulged when
all divine revelations come to light
but for now a quixotic poem of the poets
the masseurs that massage the intellect
a melting down of the words into a sigh
a sigh that disrupts the flow of anxiety
a dam made out of consecrated steel
a psalm that opens the doors of the divine
a look into the face of the heavens
a secret that teases the impatient mind
a revelation at the time of death
a reward for the inquisitive and virtuous minds
and a secret that reveals itself
through a visual encounter through the eyes
and not just from the rustling of the leaves.
