I’ll Be Gone

Light bore vision with precision across the land I call my mind
I saw your beauty so bright, so right, that moment in time
The street was full: faceless dogs and cats and tremendous crime
Yet we stood, rainbow-engaged and suddenly rang a heavenly chime
And in the dawn, the past was foregone
Just as the cultures of Sumer and Babylon
Hell doesn’t fair well against you, precious one
And with the morning, I’ll be gone

Winds of passion swept across my heart to distant shores
Dogs of malice banging upon my Opal doors
You presented a chalice, spoke, “What’s mine, is yours”
You gave Heavenly mana, and I couldn’t give anymore
The storm began to tell
Of spells and deep water wells
Deep in my soul rang a bell
A fearful relationship knell pushing me beyond
And with the wind, I’ll be gone

Streets forever wandering through snow flame and desert ice
Boy, if you love anyone at all, they will pay the price
Dark blind pressure, fires turned me from sand to gneiss,
My love, my love, my love, here comes the night
To fold and envelope us, a shell
Lack of communication, an instant tell
Of what you needed to say, yet even at a yell
My ears were closed by a spell and over was the dawn
And with the night, I’ll be gone

The greatest tragedy ever faced by a being in any life
whereupon surrounded by others brimming with strife
and air-choked, the throats of all, lungs trapped in a vice
is to not speak Love and vanish, like a gypsy in the night
The sunrise came, I stood much too long
The heat so gentle, so foreign, it felt wrong
When it said," I’ll stay", I fled, Love’s swansong
I don’t like the same setting so I traveled on
And in my dreams, I hear this song
I was safe and I left where I belong
She could’ve been something life-long
And in the end, I was gone
