Morning Walk in the Woods

At the top of the path he stopped,
And looked and listened,
And on the left were mountain ash,
And on the right were silver birch,
An arch of green and autumn orange.

The smaller birds chattered gently,
And a blue jay flew past,
And the sun burst, orange through the clouds,
Making the canopy glow with warmth,
A burst of rain... a rainbow...

Tears rolled down his cheeks,
And he smiled,
And he laughed,
And he loved...
His Morning Light.
