The Goddess

Sing to me o Muse
Sing to me the tale of Brighid, or Breanna as her mortal form
Aeons ago she was the Queen and Morrigon her foe
She led her peoples and they in turn showed devotion to the throne
And one day mortality transfixed her
For her a picture came for she wanted to see, smell, live and breathe the breath of mortal kin
And so the Goddess was transformed from deity to mortal woman
And though her memory and powers are lost her beauty and majesty is still maintained
Her dominion is the companions she calls friend
And her enemies are all around her
And I, the Poet, am the composer but in my words compose
There is a beauty in that soul which is rare to see
My beliefe and hope is that she finds peace
And though there are many gramatical errors I find myself beset with no woes
For this is a tribute to the Goddess turned mortal form

Many times they have hurt her and many more times there will be
She will find the one and she will be free?
But what of her godhood, of her throne?
The story is yet to be told.
