Dawdling
I catch a glimpse
of two deer running,
high tailed across the road.
Across the yard!
Behind the house!
Look at those suckers GO!
S T O P!
Slam on the breaks!
At the edge of the tree line.
I spoke to soon
A third one appears
Lollygagging not far behind.
