A poetic reminder
About the chronic murder
Of the god in us when we aren’t living sober.
High on the pleasures of life is when we forget
The reason of our existence is far greater than these petty measures
A guide to get through the night
While the day is bright and the mind’s still right
Respect yourself
And the god in us
Will always reign high
This is for the earth we live on
The flora, fauna and the things we kill them for.
Address the elephant in the room
The elephant is dead but our needs are met.
Nature and her children is all we have left
Plant a tree, save a seal so that our children don’t have to sleep,
To see them in their dreams.
The greatest thing these words can do
Is fuel a fire so that you remember forever
Someone somewhere will make a change
These words will then resonate across the galaxy’s embrace
You can kill him but he never dies
There’s a god in us
And he’s always alive
In you and I
