Black Mans Perspective

My knees know pressure too well
My spine has anchored itself in resistance
I am a black man
My DNA drips with strength, and vigour
I am a target
Life aims arrows at my sanity
Hoping to hit the centre of my courage
Hoping to leave me with defeat
On my tongue
Enough to defile
My body like poison
Yet I stand
Determination laced in every sweat
This war is an imposter;
I am the David to this Goliath
I am the real threat.
