FLIGHT

I spread my wings slowly, a quiet flight,
From the comfort of my smooth bed, I take my height,
Life, a melody of love, a river of joy’s embrace,
Once a fairyland, my heart’s sacred space.

Then dawned the truth, a price to pay,
For every gain, something must stray,
Life’s meaning found in this ebb and flow,
Moments fleeting, yet in their depths, we grow.

I was the river, endless, no shore to claim,
No crutch to lean on, no one but my name,
In my eyes, an ocean, and hope’s eternal tides,
Life’s paradox, where beauty and clarity hides.

If life were a flower, it should bloom fair and bright,
A lake should be pure, its waters reflecting light,
Yet they’re not always what they seem to be,
As the smooth bed calls, a whispered decree.

So I’ll rise and soar, despite the paradox’s grace,
In life’s contradictions, I’ll find my place,
For in the dance of coming and going, I’ll know,
The essence of existence, its ebb and flow.
