“Daddy I’m on top of the world” is exactly what he would say if he could say.  Hoping daddy has some attention that he could pay if it’s a good day.
And maybe daddy would look.
But, he would look into his son’s eyes disappointed in his inability to judge height and velocity. He would show animosity mixed in the monotony because he had to look at the over-statement.
The chair that he was on top of he—could not be the world under his feet that he speaks.
It’s just a chair…and daddy wasted a moment looking at his son.
“Daddy I’m on top of the world” is exactly what he would say if he could say.  
He just wanted daddy to look.  He just wanted daddy to be proud.  He just wanted to feel like daddy thinks he is above the world because that is exactly how he would feel if daddy entertained his imagination and noticed.  But, he didn’t.  
Daddy notices his daughter.  
He looks at her like God looks at the earth.  He screams “this is my creation!” and he treats her so.
Daddy noticed his son.
He sees regrets and mistakes, mixed takes and fixed hate.  Two failed experiments in the test tubes.  
Daddy says “my real creation shall overcome all”.  He treats her so and he treats him so.  
“Daddy I’m swinging” is exactly what he would say if he could say.  But, it’s hard to talk with a rope around his windpipe.
He would love to go out like that: sarcastic and ironic.
He was on top of the world and he decided to jump off.  His chair became a diving board off of the world and he fell like a comet.  
“I wonder if daddy would notice now” raced through his psychology—rocked through his brain like a lobotomy.
“Daddy, I’m swinging” is exactly what he would say if he could say, if he wasn’t hanging in his room.
He wanted to swing and daddy pushed him.
Daddy finally noticed…late as usual.
