AUNTIE MAUDE

Aunt Maude Anderson, her Auntie,
Wrinkles carved in your gentle face,
Where children’s exploring paws
Once found a place—
A place to feel warmth of sun and soul
And peer into eyes that did glow—
Love is no stranger to this face,
He alone kept it tender and
More beautiful than lace.
