Hidden pain behind a true story

Inside she knows you’re holding back, but she pretends she doesn’t see.
Doesn’t want to show she cares, so she turns up the TV.
Secretly, you sneak a tear, you hide your face in pain.
A little cry brings out her fear. She dodges like a game.
Once one tear gets free, you cant stop it, you let it all go.
But silly mom, she doesn’t care... She doesn’t have to know.
We both look up, and eyes match eyes, a strike we both regret.
She keeps away, looks to her phone, that’s my que to forget.
