I feel for babies
broken hearted butterflies
I feel for babies
not because they are beautiful
but because they are too young
to know pain
and suffering
and how it feels to die inside
the one who died in the womb
was lucky
to never gain consciousness
and experience the world
which would have torn him apart
I feel for babies
because I know
what they will one day face
and it breaks what is left of my heart.
