I have wander the wastes of this world. Dealing with all manners of people, I have risked being jaded. Cheated on, progeny aborted unbeknownst, married, cheated on again, and divorced. I have known tragedy. It is only tragic because I carry such hope with me. It’s what keeps me warm. A wool cape shielding me from the devastating power of man. I’ve walked with it since I was a boy, who wanted to be a husband and father when he grew up. It was the one thing that he had to dream about due to the abuse of one father and the abandonment of the other. Through my wishes, I learned that I would have to be a man worthy of the things that I dreamed about. So, I became a relentless and hopeless romantic searching for you. I mistook your identity for others. I gave them things that you deserved. I even gave them pieces of myself. However, they were not you. Never could be. However, from those lost wars, stabs to my chest, shatter swords, and dents in my armor, I rose again. I was stronger and more resolute. My cape of hope tattered, but still there. I will find you. With all the power that I possesses, I will see to it that you never have to deal with what I dealt with once I arrive. I will see to it that your every day feels like a blessing even when it isn’t the best day. We will do battle together, we will climb mountains together, we will spread our love like pollen in the wind together—hoping to change the world in our wake.
