A Thousand Poems

a thousand poems

I wrote a thousand poems
Before I was born,
I was cradled in a storm
While being formed.
It was pitch black, the color of my back.
Aware, no one cared,
Only God was there staring.
In the odyssey of mind
We would intertwine,
This life he would provide, subsidize,
Creating the thoughts, that would be my mind.
Without eyes, ears or nose
A poem would unfold,
Like secrets being told.
As I relaxed, floating in the fluids,
Of my sack, laid back.
There would be nothing, I would lack,
This substance in my tube, provided all my food.
He knew I couldn’t chew, was this a clue, I never knew.
In this watery grave, I laid, wishing not to be delayed.
Waiting for that sunny day, to have my way.
I was not alarmed, I felt the tension in my arms,
Stems are my hands, my gender is a man.
Hollow holes are the entrance to my soul,
I’m the captain of my sleep, I felt someone creep.
Deep in a slumber, although I never wondered.
Is this the key to life, strife to find a wife?
Where my eyes would reside,
Colorful to my surprise, would this make me wise?
On this ocean floor, I toil not with soil,
To see the world.
With all it’s glory, this is the one, who tells this story,
He gave me these words, that will never be heard.
Where my nose would grow, to smell the fragrance of the rose.
I heard a profound sound, the rhythmic heat of my heart.
Is this where love would unfold? Only God truly knows.
We search, and ponder the meaning of life, yet love is all about.
A thousand poems, I shall tell, farewell.

Please look at my book. (:
