Too

For Gilda.

She has a smile that dries up the rain,
She speaks the words that numb any pain,
She is a queen, and in my heart she reigns,
And I know she thinks I’m cute too.

Her with her love that runs like a river,
Her with her laugh, makes me tingle and quiver,
Our inside jokes, like the one about liver,
And she thinks I’m hilarious too.

The fact that she chose me astounds to this day,
That she left her parents, and came here to stay,
Makes her my sun, and her warmth, every ray
Tells me I’m amazing too.

So knowing all this, you’ll be pleased to discover,
That Gilda, my wife, is becoming a mother,
And our child, due April, will not want another,
And its dad will be pretty cool too.
