It wasn’t fair

It’s wasn’t fair
You left us with strangers
For a habit that turned you away
We were in danger
The forgotten children had to find their way

Protecting their own
Others could not be trusted
Heart of stone
The children become adjusted

Childhood should not have been spent in tears
Shame to say you get accustomed with neglect
We missed so many important years
I forgave and loved you again as we reconnect

But my childhood screams out to me...
It wasn’t fair
