Hollow Eyes

Mirror, Mirror...
As a fairy-tale story.
A reflection of yourself
Looking back at you

Can you tell me what you see?
What your thinking of?

The ugly and the immorality
The unseen truth behind painful eyes

Through skin and bone we break
The weak and unforgivable

By the blink of a bullet
Dagger to the heart
Consumption of poison
By illness...
Or natural causes

We...

Are born...

Destined to die.

Hollow Eyes...
Looking into the mirror.
What do you see?

The world around you
The mortals that roam the cold earth
Are walking time bombs.

Being taken by the unknown...

Does faith or hope matter?
Walking around like a crazed zombie
Looking to all the life surrounding you.
Only knowing death is near?

For every pulse...
Every beat of my heart
Giving me another day to live
Is like a mockery to my existence

I am not blind to death.

I simply know that I am not oblivious to it.

So why fear for the unseen creator?
Why so hard to turn away knowing
About a possible higher being than you and I?

You’re death is near.

You may not see it.
Hear it.
Feel it.

You cannot ignore it or know when it strikes.

But be ready when it does.

Death has no friends...

Just idle silences...
