Farewell beautiful angel!!!

On the 17th of March 2012
We whispered words of love
As you lay preparing
For your journey up above.
And when the final moment came
As you passed from life to death
Dad put his lips on to yours
To catch your final breath.
A memory I will cherish
A beautiful thing to do
A kiss to last forever
To take away with you.
The saddest time of my life
Surreal and so unfair
That we had to say goodbye
As you were now in gods care.
The next days we spent planning
Discussing what would be best
For your final send off
Before you was laid to rest.
We viewed you in the chapel
And bought letters from everyone
Laid tokens in your coffin
I bet it weighed a ton!!!
The flowers in bloom beside you
Ready for your big day
Dads was extra special
As on your coffin it would lay.
Beautiful flowers of love
Chosen by our pop
A huge master piece
That fitted perfectly on top.
The proudest moment without a doubt
And memory to last
Was walking with dad behind the hearse
The street fell silent as you went past.
People lined the church yard
Who I could not tell
But they were there like us
To bid a fond farewell.
Your funeral said it all mum
A send off truly grand
The church was jam packed so full
That folk had to stand.
The vicar committed you to the earth
As we gathered around
That’s the part I hated
You being lowered in to the ground.
The most heart breaking bit
For anyone I suppose
Then each of us took turns
To throw in a pretty rose.
Memories you have left
We’ll enjoy together
And you’ll remain in my broken heart
I promise mum forever.
I’ll make sure you live on
No matter what I do
As each of us is blessed
To have gained a part of you.
This break is only tempory
And all that’s left to say
Is keep watching over us beautiful angel
We’ll all come home one day.
