Drowning in the Blue

Unshed tears building up, weighing me down.
When will I be empty?
Drip this well until it’s shallow,
blank, dry and hollow.

I am unresponsive,
with nothing left to give
until I cry myself clean.

The river runs deep,
that’s where  my demons are sleeping.
The pull of currents drag me under,
to all the treachery I’m still keeping.

Until I’m drowning
suffocating in the overwhelming blue.
As I drift away, the lightening is screaming.
I fade effortlessly into you.
