Ignorance and Truth
One foot forward trying to put my best foot forward
But I just don’t know which one that is anymore
Stuck on this long winding road away from you
But I just can’t turn around although there is pain in every blow
So I’m stuck on this road away from you
Into the black the dark unknown I trudge
Cause I’m hoping I find some light
at the end Of this long dark night
I don’t believe in fairy tales anymore
There just lies we feed our children
In hope that they will look for the shiny knight
That they soon find is just a retard in tin foil
So what pushes us to believe in light
To believe in knights in shiny armour
What pushes us to believe there is something better
To believe that we will be saved
I think its because Without dreaming and hoping
We would never live in this mess we call our world
Without thinking there is something better
We wouldn’t put up with living in scum
So if we lie to ourselves and each other
Just so we continue to live
My question is this
Does the ends justify the means
Or do we just get tired of fighting
For some thing we will never achieve
Or will we be the select few
Who live in blissful ignorance
Thinking the scum they are surrounded by
Is a shining castle with knights
And moats and fairy’s and magic
I wonder which is better?
