Guarded (Him)

“I can’t be your escape.”
He echoes
.. as daggers  of rivers roll off of his lips and into the seas of my eyes.
Immediately paused,
I question the fire of your words..
And as the walls of my ears cave, I faintly hear your accusations.
Lost..
Confused…
The identities you choose to clothe me in at this moment
And as the warmth of unsettling emotions trickles its way onto my face
I fight the sensation daring to evacuate the corners of my visions…
Spinning…
I find myself
Among the realization of your perception’s imperfections
And I’m made privy…
Throughout the long gazes we’ve shared
You’ve never laid eyes on me
And through the journeys of chapters I’ve read to you,
The stories were never heard

So just as the most beautiful oceans with the bluest ranges, we both now see clearly
We are proven novels of two very different genres
So I wipe the defeat from the crevices of my beating  center
And face our certainty
Then...
From the shelves of old lovers, I reach for the book wrapped in red to reveal the blank pages.
And from the roses of my hair, I leave you my golden pen…
...To now write...
Within the novels of my absence that will surely devour your essence.
