Laying Carpets and Lino
I was fitting my carpets but you cannot do that without underlay,
so I had to do it quickly without any miss-haps or delay.
Looking through my tool box I was needing a knife,
to cut that blooming underlay I couldn’t find it for my life,
It was hidden in corner nearly out of sight.
So the old carpet was taken up,
all the muck under it was brushed up.
The underlay was laid very quick without any delay
ready for the carpet now to be laid
I have fitted the carpet done it on my own,
wanted to make my little house into a nice warm home.
So I unrolled all the carpet it was as hard as can be.
lifting every bit of carpet that was nearly was as heavy as me.
Laying the carpet and pulling all awkward rifts out
corner to each corner this was hard without a doubt
I cut the carpet from corner to wall
soon the room was finished no more to do
and my home looks nice and cosey too.
Now out in the hallway was another uncovered floor,
it wasn’t having carpet it would have lino under the door,
got my knife set to work cutting lino onto that floor .
In the bathroom where more lino was laid
that was just the same all of the corners
it was such a blooming pain.
So now you have read about the work I have done
Sometimes I wished I had never begun
I am not a professional and the work was all fun.
