Yorkshire Day
Yorkshire people are happy today,
And all because its Yorkshire day.
Grab yourself a Yorkshire rose,
The sweetest smell up yer nose.
Yorkshire day and Yorkshire grub,
We all love the beautiful Yorkshire pud,
The very best Yorkshire bitter down the pub.
We walk around with flat cap on head,
This yorkshire day we get well fed.
All be singing on ilkley moor bah tat,
a song about on the moor without your hat.
Yorkshire saying ee bah gum,
Wont be long till the sun will come.
Yorkshire is Gods own county,
lovely green fields plenty of bounty.
In this green Yorkshire land
on the beech of Scarbrough,
Bridlington’s and Filey golden sands
Yorkshire’s has famous people to,
Prime Minister, Harold Wilson
Herbert Asquith too,
Speaker, Betty Boothroyd
Telling t’ Commons what to do.
D’ya know what 'tis today?
It’s August first
Lets celbrate our wonderful
Yorkshire Day.
