How to use a dictionary

Words don’t fail me
When I look at you
My thesaurus is a mind
Of affection
Of insult
A lexicon of two parts
Defying in its order
The regime you impose
On my scatter-brain
Scribble page
That will not be ruled
Headstrong letters formed
In illegible spread
On the heart
That beats out of time with yours
In writing
Which changes its style
In tune with moods as wild
As the scrawls of ink
Outside the lines
In the colouring book
Of my childhood.
