Memories of Opal

To my great grandmother Opal

The chair where Opal  sat, catty corner to her television set, in front of where her bed was positioned at. with her favorite Shaw thrown clumsily over the back .
The Chair was where she would conquer her word search book, aside the door into her heart  once stood.
Across from the dining room where we would have our nights of family game time, with an aroma of her home made biscuits coming from the kitchen where she insisted on prayer before each meal, if any declare a protest, you would come to understand the power behind her pinches.
She was comforted by The Book, Her Bible gave her a much better outlook, for she knew, when her day would come, she would walk gracefully into her Heavenly Father’s kingdom .
I sat with her in Church every Wednesday and Sunday, God was the only man she ever loved.
She came to me, in a dream one night, grabbed my hand, lifted me and said everything would be alright. We danced, I heard her sing, at last she was free.
