Don't Go

Walter Chapek (my Grandfather)

The clock ticks softly
The hours fly bye
Tears roll down cheeks
As you prepare to die

Silent words are spoken
Softly into the night
Sorrowful people sigh
Somewhere out of sight

The morning sun shall dawn no more
If you should go away
All of life would suddenly change
On a dark and dreary day

The sun shines bright
In a silent blue sky
No one knows how much life would change
If you should suddenly die

Life drags on and on
Day after day
I know that you must go
But I wish that you could stay

I fear the day that you must go
I fear what that day may bring
I’ve lost so much and no one knows
But no one knows anything

(2000)

It's hard to watch someone that you've been close to your whole life gradually die over a period of time that's what this illustrates.
