So close yet so far

Alone he stands, no where to go.
Alone he stands, where he does not know.
Alone he sits, with a tear in his eye.
Alone by himself he whimpers a sad good bye.

Alone in the dark he now wakes.
Alone as his wiry heart breaks.
Alone he sits,
Alone he cries,
Alone he lays,
Alone he dies.

Alone without her he could not live,
Yet nothing more she has to give.
Alone now, she is to wake,
For it was his life death did take.

Alone in the dark she sits to cry,
Alone in the night she wishes to die.
Love and desire are a thing of her past,
But how much longer will her grieving last?

Together again they would be,
But their fait is a far more confusing mystery.
They said they’d be together for ever or they would die,
Which definitely was no lie.
Now they both lie dead and cold,
And have become spirits ever so bold.

Now together, but still apart,
No longer joined at the heart.
Together in death, but apart in love,
Wondering somewhere up above.

Love does die,
Love does leave,
Now this is something they both believe.

Unknown to them they’re still in love,
In this mysterious place so high above.
Dead now they both are,
So close yet so far.
