Beach Songs

So recently I celebrated my 17th birthday at the beach with my dear friends. When they left I was a lone for a while, with my feet sinking into the wet shore, the part that gets drenched by the tide, and it was empty and tranquil. It's such a lovely feeling, with my eyes closed to the word and my sore feet sinking into collapsing sand, I am earth. I am one with the earth and I will return to it.

There was a song that needed to be sung
So I moved, so there was dancing
My feet quick and not lingering
Lost in a moment belonging to seconds ago
There was only now
Now that the constant breeze blew
Softly the tide breaks and drenches the shore,
My toes shiny and damp
I close my eyes to the crashing of the tide,
A symphony I’ve always known and one
That has never been mine
The crashing, and the caressing
The waves rolling and rolling on
Expanding over the shore,
white fluffy seafoam
I open my eyes to, and revell in.
