Ocean Night Owl

Nights will fill my sinful head with peace
My soul has a craving for darkness
And I’m ready to bite
There are colors aluminating off my veins like
The glow of the moonlight hitting the ocean
And when the lanterns are set loose at the pier
I sit in the sand and I choke on my tears
These calming emotions are angering me
I hate feeling this sad but at least I’m feeling something
The rays from the sun often leave me burnt out and numb
But the night leaves me swaying with my inner indecisiveness
The wind shakes the bushes that fall behind the jetti
It sound like the rustling of mustard fall leaves
I sit on the ledge with only my heart
And my little black notebook
So I can write in the dark
