Hearth and Home

A flicker, a glimpse,
A pierce in the void,
A beacon in a bleak sea.

The grip loosens,
The fog clears,
A release from autonomy.

A guide on the path,
A warm sirens call,
Kindling a feeling of home

Warm embrace,
A familiar face,
You are no longer alone.

The door was always there
The outside isn’t new
Let someone inside
They’ll open the door for you.

Your hearth never went out,
No matter how low the ember,
Let someone inside,
They’ll help you remember.

Come back behind those eyes,
Light and true,
I never gave up,
There’s fight left in you.

The light comes in,
Hearth rekindled a blaze,
You let someone in,
No more dark days.

Better days come when letting someone in
