Peter and Wendy

A little life,
Perceived anon,
Reflected upon,
Through jubilance and strife.

Where do you go
When you can’t turn inside.
Walking with vague autonomy,
Filled with swallowed pride.
Left with no heart
Leaves you with no home
she shaped our dreams
then made them her own.

Don’t fall in love with a face
Don’t fall for just the idea
Fall for the one that waits and wants
The one who holds you near.
Take your risks, you only live once
take time there’s no need to rush
Don’t be flippant with your heart
Because nothing breaks like trust.
Sometimes I find myself dreaming
That I’m back in 2010
A simple life, a simple plan
Take me back when.
The sun shined a little brighter,
Colours sharper too
Free in mind, body and spirit
There’s nothing I couldn’t do.

Enjoy the freedom when it finds you
Maybe never grow old
Find the Wendy to your Peter
To combine your stories told
This world is your Neverland
Create your stories to write
Hold out for that someone
To take past the second star on the right
