The Way You Move

I see you there, turn and turn
A spin over here, applause is earned.
Each little hop, a predetermined thing,
You make my voice, formal, as I sing.
I feel your dance, inside my soul...
What embers burn inside? Igniting the cold?

You fill me with wonder as you glide upon the stage,
I wish I had the talent to perform as you do,
to not be caged.
Your emotion is raw,
your movement is proof,
I wish to jump, to fly as you do.
I really want to move.

Alas, stones describe my gait,
I am but of dirt and earth
You vividly remind me of air,
but you heat me like a hearth.
The flow of your hair is a wave,
The land is not dry, but saved,
A melody accompanied by bliss,
A new song that one can’t afford to miss.

Your soft touches of your toes upon the ground
Each footfall doesn’t make a sound.
There is but a shift in the wind,
that guides the lost to be found
To heights profound and past the mundane
Thoughts close to genius, they begin to sound insane.

Your hands split the wind
into gathered cues
A flick of the wrist, a tap of a beat
No more feelings that must be refused
These elements describe your body,
your hair and your hands,
Your resolve is never spotty.

Each movement is a moving photo,
Cinematic in its essence.
Become my movie, my theatre.
Be my fire, my luminescence.
Burn a path for me
through your flourishes
Your tumbles and rolls
Your energy constantly nourishes
And fuels my fire like coals

As your cantabile of the body ends
I feel wanting of more.
You finish with a bow, respect and poise.
You dance and I adore..
