Fragile Heart Whispers

Had I been brave
a little,
Had you been
less enticing,
E’en my munificence spared,
To you, would’ve been trifling.

Had you cared enough this
heart of mine,
Of persistent reminder
thy drowning sight,
Shall I leap or breathe thy name,
If ruin I shall, thou art to blame.

Is it cruelty–
residing my soul–you left behind?
Of thoughts that conspire in
crippling minds torment. If I seek you,
Will they return me whole
Or in fragments, once mine.
