Motto

Say, can you see
A home for the brave!
A land for the free
No place for a grave

Stars burn bright
Self respect won..
From the fight
Thriving from despair
Rockets, yes, once glared

I never was so proud
The day I stood up for myself
...
But the chains pull me down
Cuts bleed through my gown
Gossip and hearsay funnel through town

A virgin warrior
Ready to fight
Sick of rape and thievery
Summoning supernatural might

Let this be my motto: “In God’s will I trust”
With a glowing heart we’ll shine off the rust
And rise from the ashes of a fiery bush
God protect this big round tush

I pray that evil hasn’t permeated this lands soul,
That each individual is still a whole
With a mind of her own and an opinion to voice
I pray those men who died know it gave infinite choice

I feel their tears as they cast their fears
A sacrifice of many years
Strong and fearless, was their final breath
Let’s not forget their motto before their infinite rest.

And if God is nothing more than faith
A belief in something better than the 'days’ disgrace
Then let that be enough in anyone’s face
To make such suffering yesterday’s pace
