Love Lost

When all love has been lost...

In the heart of the city, I scribble these lines,
‘Bout a love that was more than just facetime and signs,
Now dimming like the dusk claims the daylight,
This long-distance vibe, it’s wrapping up tight.

Miles apart, felt like endless city blocks,
Our love lived through DMs, voice notes, and talks,
But the glow of the screen started to fade, connection lost in a tech-made maze.

Your voice once closed the gap, made it all seem small,
A lifeline, as we tried to stand tall,
But echoes die out, silence crept in, heavy,
Left us with memories, too many, too heavy.

We dreamed big, promised the moon and back,
But reality checked us, showed us what we lack,
Love needs more than just virtual dreams,
It craves the real, the close, the together scenes.

Standing at this crossroad, all by myself,
Letting go of what we had, putting it on the shelf,
Not out of spite, or pain, or trying to diss,
But thankful for the journey, for the hit and miss.

Ain’t about blaming or throwing no shade,
Some loves are like fireworks, they blaze then fade,
They teach us, touch us, then turn to ash,
Leaving us wiser, ready for the next dash.

Hope your path’s smooth, lit with hope’s light,
As you find a love that fits just right,
And though we’re taking different roads, under the same vast sky,
I’ll cherish what we had, no need to question why.

‘Cause every ending’s a chance at a new start,
A new rhythm, a new beat, a fresh heart,
Here’s to the love that was, and what’s coming through,
To the past, the present, and the future too.
