Happy he who beside you...

Happy he who beside you suspires,
who hears the echo of your tremulous voice,
who the flattery of your laughter adores,
and the sweet aroma of your breath aspires!

Such happiness, that full of envy,
the cherub who dwells in paradise admires,
the soul confuses, devours the heart,
and the clumsy accent, on uttering it, expires.

The world disappears before my eyes,
and I feel the fire of profound love
swiftly circulate through my veins.

Tremulous, in vain I want to resist you ...
I flood my cheek with ardent tears ...
Passion, joy, I bless you and die!
