Take Me Away

These four walls encasing me with dead silence.
I am the only living inhabitant in this room since.
Since I became this way.
To ne’er want to see the vibrant light of day.

I look outside to the sight of a swaying tree.
Please, world, let me be.
The dark night suffocating this lively tree swaying in the breeze.
It shall soon decay and freeze.

In this room, I can feel the remnants of death.
The fragrance smells so fresh.
Blood running down the rotting walls.
These walls will eventually fall.

Cuts upon my oily skin.
I will never win.
Burns upon my scarred membranes.
I’m in desperate need of a new brain.

Take me away.
Just for the day.
I want to know what it would be like
To not have to constantly fight.
