Chains
A sub to sobriety
The ball and chain to drag me down
It’s the constant nag of my over baring wreckage of thoughts
The self struggle day to day
My own will cannot suffice
I need an intervention to bring me true
The monster inside will soon erupt
My own adventures in day to day life
the chains of yesterday will soon break free
I cannot be the man I was before
I will survive and in too much grace
My following will prevail
I am a new son of the one who walks now and forever
Now is the day I break free
My chains will be be no more
My chains will be a figment of my imagination
I am who I am
A man of true quality
A man of me indeed

My struggle is still in progress. I am a recovering addict and alcoholic. I still struggle but I have come a long way.
