Silver

In this silver morning, I send you wishes
That in the rolling fog you float like a feather
And butterflies join you as you dance through this day

In the mirror of my mind, I can see you, fluttering
Fair as lambs milk and kissed by the faintest blush
Of a mercury sun

And I remember the spark of honey and amber
In your eyes

O, that the oceans held as much mystery
So I could be swept away in these hazel waves and melt

Gold? What is gold, but the shining of a lesser star
I long not for riches, but only to walk the misty beach again
Next to the silver of your shadow
In the sandy tangled fingers of oblivion

If only the strings of my lute could cross the milky way
And lead me to the doorstep of your quiet heart
I would play until the last tear fell from the sky
And never want for more

In this silver morning, I daydream of the shape of your smile
Crescent, curved at the corner in a Mona Lisa smirk
And my sighs are hidden by the wind
As it it tiptoes by
