Hidden Scars

As a tear falls to the sink she wraps her hands around her waist,
Then she looks into the mirror and imagines shattering her face,
She clenches both her sides because she believes that she is fat,
But the people on the outside think she’s far away from that,
But no matter what they say it disappears when she’s alone,
She picks apart her body until she’s stranded in the cold,
She’s hides behind her smiles so that no one could believe,
That behind this little girl there are dark secrets that she keeps,
She gets a hold of something sharp and hides behind a door,
It relieves her for a while when she is feeling insecure,
She flushes bloody tissue and hides the glass inside her room,
She hides behind her jackets that she never will remove,
She finds a thrill in watching blood dripping down her arm,
And all her flaws just disappear every time that she self harms,
She’s lost inside euphoria as she’s sitting on the floor,
Digging glass into her arm as she’s leaning on the door,
But when the deed is done and she is brought back to the world,
All she has is scars to hide upon a perfect little girl,
She walks around with battle scars that no one understands,
And lives her life just waiting till she succumbs to it again.
