A Soothing Splinter
Take with you this splinter
that I’ve pulled from my heart,
as a token to remember me
if ever we must apart.
Keep it to remind you of
the time we’d spent together.
And know it’s in your heart
that I shall always be... forever.
This splinter should not hurt
or inflict upon you pain,
but bring you warming comfort
upon thinking of my name.
Proof the bond we share
is written in my blood.
Yet this splinter’s but a fraction
of my never ending love...
